Doctrinal Statement
of
Missionary Jerrold Myers

My family and I believe and hold to the following foundational doctrines.

1. All Scripture is divinely inspired by God, inerrant, infallible, and the FINAL RULE for Faith and Practice. II Tim. 3:16; II Peter 1:21; Ps. 119:89, 160.

2. One God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matt. 3:16, 17; II Cor. 13:14; I Jn. 5:7.

3. Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. Isa. 7:14, 9:6; Matt. 1:18-25; Jn. 1:1, 14.

4. Man was created in the image of God; man sinned; and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God; and all human beings are born with a sinful nature, thereby requiring a " new birth " experience in order to go to Heaven. Gen. 1:26, 27; 2:16, 17; 3:22-24; Rom. 3:21-28, 5:12, 6:23; Jn. 3:3-7.

5. Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood. Jn. 3:16; Rom. 5:1, 6-9; I Tim. 2:5, 6.

6. The crucified body of our Lord was resurrected from the dead. He ascended into Heaven and is our Intercessor. Matt. 28:6; I Cor. 15:4; Acts 1:9-11; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25; I Tim. 2:5.

7. The personal, pre-millenial return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is imminent. Jn. 14:3; Acts 1:11; I Thes. 4:13-5:9; Rev. 19:11-21; 20:4-6; 22:7, 12, 20.

8. All who repent of their sin toward God and receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and become the children of God. Acts 20:21; Jn. 3:3, 5; Jn. 1:12; II Pet. 3:9; I Thes. 1:9; Acts 26:18-20.

9. That Salvation is by grace through faith. No work of man, whether baptism or any other religious work, adds or aids in securing favor with God for salvation. Eph. 2:8, 9; Isa. 64:6; Rom. 3:21-28, 4:1-5, 8:8, 11:6; Jn. 6:28, 29.

10. All believers are baptized at salvation by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ and set apart to service and a Holy walk. I cor. 12:1-27; Titus 2:11-15; I Cor. 6:19-21; Eph. 2:10.

11. All true believers, having been born again into the family of God, are possessors of everlasting life, sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption, shall never perish, and are eternally secure in Him. Jn. 10:27-30; 5:24; 6:37; Eph. 1:13, 14; 4:30; I Pet. 1:23.

12. The bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost is certain. I Thes. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15; Jn. 5:28, 29.

13. Immersion is the only Scriptural mode of baptism and is for believers only. Rom. 6:3, 4; Acts 8:36, 38; Matt. 28:19, 20.

14. The Lord´s Supper is a commemoration of His death until He comes. Luke 22:17-20; I Cor. 11:23-26.
